Ravi Kannan wins the prestigious Knuth Prize, 2011

It came to us not as a surprise, since for more than two decades, Ravi Kannan is a legendary name in the area of computation. Moreover, in his course, he teaches almost anything and everything of Computer Science. The official news of the prize announcement is here. It is a great honor for the Department of Computer Science and Automation, Indian Institute of Science to have him as an adjunct faculty, and for us, who get to learn by doing his courses as creditors, auditors or teaching assistants. We wish to express our hearty congratulations and wish him to continue his excellent research and teaching career.
